| Growing Artists philosophy is about the process of art: babies and tots “doing art.” During the process, they will discover their own independence, as well as the mystery of combinations, the joy of exploration, the delight of creating and the frustration of challenges- all important pieces in the puzzle of learning.
Papoose welcomes our new Growing Artist instructor: Christine Barker. Christine has four children who range in age from 3 to 11. She has a Bachelor of Fine Art degree and creates her own art using oil paint and collage techniques.
Week One FINGER-PAINT- explore color transitions and tactile fun! Talk about the color wheel!
Week Two COLLAGE w/ PASTE - using the tops of shoe boxes, you will decorate your new Art Bin!
Week Three PLAY-DOH- using homemade playdoh, we roll it, knead it, smoosh it and cut it!
Week Four PAINT W/ BRUSHES- using brushes, feathers, and stamps, we explore printmaking!
Week Five FAUX STAINED GLASS- crayons & contact paper cut into shapes can create "stained glass"
Week Six TINKER TOY CONSTRUCTION- conceptual art by toddlers and grown-ups! We work together to create a group inspired piece of art! |
